• Chawla Murder Case, Cops Arrested 4 Accused


    New Delhi: Delhi Police on Thursday arrested four youths in connection with the sensational case of kidnapping and murder of Class XI student Ribu Chawla.
    The arrested were identified as Rishi, Mani, Rocky and Gaurav. All the accused are aged between 19 and 21 years. The accused are said to be friends of Ribu and residents of the same locality in Vikaspuri as Ribu.
    Police has also recovered the Wagon R car, which was used for the kidnapping.
    Police have recovered the mobile phone of the victim used by the kidnappers to make the ransom calls and the car used in the crime.
    Investigators had yesterday said that they suspect that those involved in the kidnapping might be known to the family and they killed Ribu as they feared being identified and caught.
    Ribu Chawla (16), student of K R Mangalam School, was Tuesday kidnapped from near his school in Vikaspuri.
    The kidnappers had approached the family asking for a ransom of Rs 20 lakh. However, within hours his body was found in an isolated spot in south Delhi’s Vasant Kunj area with his throat slit.
